Once upon a time, December 9 of 2006 to be exact, a woman went looking for reviews on Digital Cameras. The professional reviewers didn't impress her as they had too much knowledge and information. The photography forums had more questions on cameras than she did and little information. Then she went to Epinions.com and found the user reviews to be just right. The people there gave information that she could understand and put to use when she shopped for her new camera. The next day (Dec. 10 in case you forgot the original day) she went back to Epinions, read more reviews and visited the message boards. What did she find? That she could write her own reviews and even earn money! So, what if it is only a penny or two? She is able to relate her experiences with products and destinations, maybe even a help a person or two with a buying decision. How exciting is that? Very!

While it was the thought of earning money that got her to join Epinions.com, what kept her there was the community. Earning pennies didn't mean as much as getting to "know" the people of Epinions (Epinionators). Asking and answering questions, helping newbies and debating the good or bad qualities of everything Epi-related became a daily activity. She even co-hosted an Epinions Day get-together, meeting some of the Epinionators in person. Now she is closing in on 300 reviews, making dollars instead of pennies and moderating two message boards. I...I mean she...plans on living Epi-happily ever after.
