I joined Epinions because I benefited greatly from reading kitchen appliance reviews when I was replacing appliances in my kitchen. In fact, I was so impressed with the quality of reviews on Epinions that I wanted to help others by adding my own reviews. What really spurred me on was buying my new dishwasher ~ it was such a winner, and so much better than my previous model, that I couldn't wait to spread the word. I hoped that my experience with my new appliances would be useful to others who were looking for new appliances, too. In one case, my new oven malfunctioned multiple times after we got it installed. After searching the Web, I found others who had experienced the same issues, too.
So, I used my Epinions review to alert other owners or purchasers of this model to potential problems they might experience and methods I used to solve them. Now that thousands of ordinary people have read my appliance reviews, I feel I've generated some of the good Karma which I received from Epinions initially.
After I got the "Review Bug" by seeing so many people reading my reviews, I started reviewing any product which either made me silly with joy, or livid with anger and disppointment. There are also some mediocre products which cry out to be reviewed! I love having a forum to express myself. Also, I enjoy the feedback I get from other members who leave funny, insightful and smart comments on my reviews, and in general, by the community which is encouraging and talented. I have found that the more energy I put into my reviews, the more positive feedback I receive ~ again, it's great Karma!
